"My fears and hopes for the next year."

The new year in school will be my twelfth year in our jewish school. I think that it´s so strange, because many students in our high school changed school at least one time-from elementary to high school. This school is something like my second home and home is very important.

Last year I witnessed a sad case when a girl from our class had to leave our school
, because her big problems in school started when she was ill. This girl is still in nervous breakdown. She doesn´t find good new school and she is very exhausted. This story is frightening every students. My biggest fear is failing the exams and leaving the school, because my new school year has started with tonsillitis.

Next fear thing is Math. Math is subject where I have the biggest problems. I can´t see any formulas in the equasions, any triangles in special geometric problems, I can´t see anything. I have to hope, that I will have luck and energy.

I want to prevent problems in school. I hope that I will be healthy and strong to fight with school terms, homeworks and other problems.

I hope that our school year will be joyful. I hope that will be full of celebration. Rosh Hashana will be with apples and honey, Chanuka with chanukia and Purim with costumes etc. I hope that our school projects will have quality.

I believe that our school will "be alive" and that my second home will be nice and homely. So let´s go to new year with smile on our lips. And how is it in one very famous song?...Don´t worry, be happy!....

Soňa, it is a very good essay and your writing is improving! It is obvious you spent a lot of time and energy on it. It has a clear structure and it is very interesting to read. You made only very few mistakes in contracted forms and in articles. I also appreciate that you consulted with me the vocabulary you used. As for your fears and hopes, I very much hope the year will be interesting and that you will win over the math formulas.
